Just another Joyous June Week.

The rain keeps showering each day breathing life into my garden much the same way that opportunities are raining down on our team and our members.

I have been invigorated each day by the connections I am building and the stories I am hearing. While we are missing the sun, the nourishment the rain is bringing to all levels of my life and business has been outstanding.

With that, let's catch up on what I've been up to this week...

This article popped up on my newsfeed and the title intrigued me enough to stop and read it: Four Tips for Talking with People You Disagree With, by Megan Phelps-Roper (Click here) That article led to my listening to her TED Talk on the same subject (click here). And WOW, just wow!  Her story will leave you shaking your head, then nodding, and finally feeling inspired by the truth that we can all change.  We can all look at things differently and, yes, we can have the courage to stand in truth.

I recommend that you start following Kute Blackson (click here). His most recent book, The Magic of Surrender:  Finding the Courage to Let Go is an homage to his mother and the powerful lesson she taught him, that “surrender isn’t passive.  It isn’t giving up.  It’s strong and courageous.  It’s about tapping in.”  You can listen to an interview with him about the book on one of my favorite podcasts:  Redefining Wealth with Patrice Washington, episode 208 (click here). You will be inspired!

Are you participating in @WBENC’s Focus on the Future event?  It’s not too late to register because all of the sessions are recorded and will be available until mid-July.  This is a great way to connect with WBEs from around the country (there are neat connect and chat features on the platform) AND an easy way to connect with corporate representatives.  The program celebrates WBENC’s Top Corporations and Woman Business Stars and there are Industry Think Tanks led by corporations in breakout rooms.  That’s where the magic happens—you can ask questions directly to the corporate reps on their presentations and on trends that they are looking at in their industry.  I attended the Cyber Security breakout session with Bobbie Stempfley (LinkedIn contact) from DELL and she had great insight and tools on what DELL expects regarding WBEs having Cyber Security policies and statements --yes! You must have one-- and what they are expecting as far as trends over the next five years.

This week my team and I participated in the Women of Wisdom Conference in Portugal.  We were virtual, and even though we had to adjust our schedules a bit because of the 5-hour time difference, we were present and I’m happy to say, impactful and inspirational. The conference reached an audience of over 5,000 with participation from Portugal, the Balkans, Brazil, South Africa, and Mozambique. Steph McFee (LinkedIn contact) spoke about the most important elements of your website and brand presence. Diane Sears (LinkedIn contact) gave great information about how to get media attention. Johanna Sanchez (LinkedIn contact) talked about work/life balance and Carmen Perez (LinkedIn contact) provided tips on how to get noticed by corporate buyers in retail.

My presentation was about scaling your business. Check out the WOW conference and its AMAZING hostess Linda Pereira (LinkedIn Contact), WOW Conference Facebook (click here).

This was another amazing week filled with intention and focus. So I ask you, what are you doing to take leadership in your life and be the CEO that I know that you are?

I wish you a wonderful weekend full of joy and WOW! moments.
